The "not quite a party" birthday party.

OH HEY It's another post.
Sadly, still no style/fashion, unless you want to take inspiration from my "Casual Birthday Party Chic" look.
I actually wore jeans. Up until the day of my birthday, I owned one pair of jeans. These are my "sick day" jeans, for lounging and doing nothing. But I had been eyeing up some pale icey blue skinnies in the Topshop sale for a week or two (or three or four) and, with the help of birthday money and my brother's student discount, they are now mine! Unfortunately, there weren't any pictures showing them from my party, but I might snap a couple this weekend.

Oh yes, two cakes. The first was rose & vanilla (made by my friends), the second was strawberries, raspberries and cream (made by my mummy). Mmm.

My room.

My room is in the process of being "transformed". It's almost there, a couple of weeks ago I got all my things and chucked them up on nice new shelves. I have a whole shelf of just Harry Potter themed books (and a few bits and bobs)! To me that screams true geek.
I also made myself some wonky curtains from gorgeous Cath Kidston fabric, they are terribly uneven but I love the way they look.

Sorry for all the unfashion/style things happening here at the moment, I'm afraid there's a few more to come and then maybe an outfit this weekend. It's amazing to watch my followers grow. Thank you so much!

Last day of being 14.

Photobucket
Fifteen sounds a lot older than the little "one-four", I feel like I should be older. Maybe tomorrow will bring a dramatic change and I will start feeling a lot more grown up? I'm not even sure if I want that.
I'm actually feeling so happy at the moment. I love my life, my friends and I'm hoping not much changes.
Last night I enjoyed doing my history homework. I enjoyed my homework. That's maturity right there.

love all of you,

I like Autumn.

Photobucket
I like making polyvores when the mood takes me.
I'm feeling very inspired by autumn at the moment, I can't pass a woolly hat without trying it on & I am aching to get my scarves and cosy mittens out of storage. I'm actually wishing for colder days, I love hot and cold but can't stand the in-the-middley bit.
It's my birthday on Friday, and no matter how old I get I will always love my birthday. I happen to have a day off school so I'm having a few friends over, I never really wanted a big party - just to spend time with the people I love. I'm the kind of person who would rather have a few close friends than a big crowd of people & I'm happy to say I truly love everyone of my friends.
Also, I'm getting a proper camera!! Not a big huge fancy one, but I'm in love! Anything is better than my current one, which I estimate is about eight years old and could hardly be described as "top quality" even then. I can't wait to take nice pictures.

More updates soon, sorry if I haven't been commenting back! I'm such a complete ditz when it comes to remembering important things like that, but I do always have a peek at your blogs even if I don't have time to comment.

holiday oh a holiday

I'm so unorganised. Apparently that's not a word.
Has anyone else just hit year 10 and been overwhelmed completely by the workload? And next week I have a GCSE assessment!! Already!!
I loved every comment I received on my last post, they were so inspiring and amazing. You all made me feel a lot better, thank you so much.
The annoying thing about the artwork I'm doing at the moment is I was so proud of it. I considered it to be the best work I've ever done, but my teacher can't find a single good thing to say about it. Not a terribly good confidence boost.

I thought I should finally show you some pictures from my trip to Rome, but since this is my attitude to family holiday snaps -
Photobucket
I struggled to find any. At least in this one you can see a bit of our apartment, which was gorgeous.
Photobucket
I think the body language in that first picture by the fountain is priceless, but at least the fountain looks nice!
And my mum's gorgeous Topshop blouse, famous amongst bloggers - I want it. I think it's time for wardrobe borrowing.

This is me and my brother in the beautiful English tearooms next to the Spanish steps, it was so lovely but a lot on the pricey side so we all just had ice tea. Which was delicious! You mixed it up yourself with liquid sugar and lemon, I loved it. And everything had little cats on, you can just see one on the napkin, it was so pretty.

Sorry if that was a bit too "family holiday", I wanted to post but had nothing exciting to show you. I needed some way to escape my history homework though.

p.s. I have some lovely things to show you, I just need to get my camera out.

Monday 6 September 2010

I'm too hungry to think of a title.

I haven't posted in ages. School is nasty.
This is my first full week back (I had Friday last week) and I actually can't believe I'm expected to wake up and be out of the house before 8:15ish again tomorrow. And with my new lessons, my days are so long! I start at most days 8:30 and don't get to go home until 3:40 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. At least on Wednesday and Thursday I have late starts, but Mondays & Tuesdays will be my downfall. I can just tell.

Shoes - Vintage
I wore this to go shopping with my brother on Saturday, all I bought was Topshop under-eye brightener, because I am definitely needing it at the moment. Sleepy Lily!!
Taking these photos was such a chore, I tried three locations around and outside my house before I settled by the back door because it had the most light & least rain, but these pictures are still too dark and not great.

I've just started my Art & Design course, and I am so nervous. Basically everyone in the class is so much more talented than me, and the work of previous students is just so amazing! It's all so beautiful and creative, I have no idea how I'm going to live up to it, especially as my nice Art teacher moved to Switzerland and the new one is very critical and says "groovy" a lot. Hmm.

I might be able to fit in another post later this week, probably with more moaning about school. Sorry!

p.s. This is my haircut. I like it now. :)
