straight from the fridge, duuuuuuuuude

OF COURSE, I could spend this found apologising for being the worst blogger EVER (again) but that's so ennuyeux and barbant (hmm who has a french test soon? always me!) that I really really really don't want to.

I should be posting about my FABULOUS trip to London were I bought my AMAZING sailor coat BUT my camera is the worst thing ever invented to take pictures with, I would be better off with a lump of cheese. Eventually I will be forced to destroy this wonderful item of clothing's beauty by creating a horrid photograph were the colours are wrong and the quality is painful - but until then you can have my wonderfully poetic feelings.
SO, our story begins with me cautiously stepping down into the paradise that is Beyond Retro, cautiously because I hate going down stairs, I glanced to the left and BAM! I fell in love! The coat itself is navy kind of coaty woolly material and OBVIOUSLY has an adorable sailor flappy thing (even writing about that is exciting) and then above the hemmy edges it has sort of red braided wool and it's much nicer than it sounds. AND ONLY £48!
My heart had been set on a sailor coat since I began to see the famous Topshop one on almost every blog I read, so imagine my excitement to find an even more precious and lovely vintage replacement for myself! It's so lovely and once I get around to shortening it and making it a little more fitted I will steal a camera I will soooooo have a picture so you can all appreciate the glory.

I also bought a couple of skirts, some tights (YUMMY DARK FORESTY GREEN LIKE I WANTED), a gorgeous headband and a very lovely soft cardigan in the palest and prettiest lilacy colour - my most successful trip ever, I think.

On a sad and whiny note, I HAVE NO MONEY LEFTYET I WANT SO MUCH!
OK not completely true, I have £6 but I am saving for my Alice's birthday present and even so that would buy me all of a pair of tights. This is the sad thing about a big London shopping trip.
I'm longing for;
- a nice brown leather waist belt
- some pretty tops and blouses etc I HAVE NONE
- a pair of shoes that pretty but good quality
- some nail polish in an interesting colour
- more nice perfume
- and yeah I do want some more nice tights
Hmmm, who's a brat?
Oh, it's me.

I really feel like doing something creative, I think I might try and start drawing regularly again like when I was in primary school to prepare for doing an art GCSE. And some stuff of my walls. And some sewing. Maybe all that will help me pass the time while I'm poor.

ANYWAY SWEETHEARTS, thank you so much for reading and sticking with me and commenting and being amazing! I promise I'll be a good blogger now.

LOVE FROM LILY XXX

p.s. Isn't it so weird that on a blogging website the word blog isn't in the dictionary thing?

fell in your opinion when i fell in love with you

Wow, the Christmas season is just magical. Everything is so cosy and lovely - the best thing about being cold is wrapping up in scarves, big jumpers and all things woolly. Lots of cosy hugs and new years kisses, giving gifts and snuggling up in front of lovely old films with hot chocolate and blankets.
I had the most wonderfully lovely family Christmas, my first (almost) white Christmas!
Here is just a tiny selection of my most adorable presents:

Father Christmas also found a wonderful little set of scrap fabrics from a truly wonderfully sweet shop in Columbia Road, it's called Beyond Fabrics and it's like a fairy tale retro vintage beautiful fabric shop with fabric and buttons and lovely velvet ribbon. Just stepping inside makes you want to live in a house made of fabric with every wall a different pattern.

And here are a couple of slightly boring and uncreative outfits, the first just for a lazy day at home and the second for little new years eve party.

A poor quality close up, but this skirt is so beautiful! I bought it at the clothes show, only £15 when it should have been £45. From this lovely place.

I'm beginning to be a little scared about the next decade, about how much I've change since 2000 when I was only four years old! By the times it's 2020 I will be twenty four and an actual grown up. It's just mad thinking about all the things I will have done by then and whether they will be things to be proud of or not. I hope I have some nice achievements by the time the next decade rolls around, I want to be living in London or Paris or somewhere quite equally fabulous and survive of tuppence and wear nothing but vintage ball gowns and drink nothing but champagne. But then again, I shouldn't wish and daydream my life away.
Have a lovely 2010!

Saturday 2 January 2010

wake me up when those bluebells are ringing.

Ever so slightly late I fear, but -
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I haven't even approached my computer for about week so I am ridiculously behind on my blogging AND YET this still isn't a proper post. I have a full Christmas Post planned, with at least two outfits and a few other pictures sitting very patiently still in my camera, they will hopefully be released into the world over the next few days - perhaps later tonight, if the mood takes me. If it does not, then I will not be back until Monday because I have a little trip to London tomorrow which will hopefully bring another outfit and more pictures if I am not too lazy. However, I will promise it to you before I return to nasty horrible nasty school on Wednesday.

Farewell, and I hope to see you very soon!
