Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts!

Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something, please,
Whether we be old and bald
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot,
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot.

I'm having a very vivid "Oh How I Wish I Could Go To Hogwarts" phase at the moment, which, while being very lovely, often leads me to do things such memorize the school song or the poem engraved at the entrance of Gringotts, then abandon all the books I'm reading to start The Philosopher's Stone for the 100th time and maybe squeeze in a film or two. I have to go to extreme lengths to stop myself finding another "wand" out of my garden and, yes it's hard to believe after reading this, I am all grown up and fourteen!

If you go down to the woods today...

Cold days when the sun is shining, absolutely wonderful!
At the moment I feel I must make the most I can out of all the free time I have before it all gets washed away in the rain, so a few lovely girls and I headed to the closest thing we have to the wild countryside - a little country park full of pretty trees and meadows.
Armed with a yummy picnic complete with lemon fairycakes and a bigbag of toffee to tide us over we set off on our adventure.

Laden down with our treats, we set off enthusiastically. Notice the abundance of berets? A very cute surprise when Alice and I arrived with our matching headgear - mine was found in a charity shop for £1 when I was on the hunt for my WW2 evacuee school trip costume in year 6!
We all got a little snap happy with the amazing scenery.

It was so lovely and peaceful just to walk along the forest paths beneath the leafy trees, I hope this has encouraged a few of you to get out into the great outdoors!

As always,
love from
Lily

the first of the autumn rain.

Chilly winds and rain, what wonderfully British weather. It's so lovely that my morning routine now includes a woolly hat, gloves and a long cosy scarf to wind around my neck and digging out my wonderfully pink and frilly umbrella. Now it's truly the weather for tea, cakes and a lovely black and white film - what rainy days were made for!

I leave you with a picture of my perfect winter boots, a lovely birthday present from my parents ( the top ones are mine, the other's my friend millie's - we match! )

lots of love from
Lily
