sending you sunshine with love and kisses.

hello to the few loved ones and little sweethearts who take the time to read my blog.
it has been a terribly long time since i last blogge
d, but i have been having a splendidly summer time doing charming summery things with my pals & chums.
such as baking yummy cakes with loveley natalie, which were so pretty and delicious, with multicolured insides and icing and sprinkles.

and then i had a super wonderful time seeing harry potter with some of my bestest pals. we really wanted to get into the spirit of things so we decided t
o have lots of fun dressing up; i was harry (wearing my brothers big woolly jumper with a pair of sharpie-d on glasses and a scar on my face, natalie was luna ( i made the cork necklace! ) and holly was hermione as she has some of the biggest hair i've ever seen.
darling bill didn't dress up, but we gave him a toad and called him neville so he wouldn't be left out.
we prepared for the big event by having a harry potter marathon and
watching all five films in one night, which we managed with no sleep at all and was an ace night.

and then, my favourite part of every year...
LATITUDE!!!!!!!!!!!
the most fun you can have in a weekend, i promise you!

the highlight of my weekend was the one and only patrick wolf, probably the most talented musician you can find at the moment, his music is so beautiful so everyone listen to him now!!! :)
(i was right at the front, but i was having too much fun too take pictures so this one is natalie's)
everything about latiutude is so amazing and beautiful, the loveliest musical festival ever.
and i've been enjoying the rest of my summer in cold, wet & windy shetland. lucky me! :)

lots of love from

picnics.rivers.swimming.

i think we can officially say, summer is here!

i've been having absolutely loooooooooovely weather here & lovely days to match. it's amazing how much more fun you can have when the sun is shining in cambridge, so my chums & i took advantage of this by heading to jesus green for a picnic.

food was eaten.
frisbee was played

piggybacks were given

and generally fun was had.
we spent hours just lying in the sunshine, accompanied by a tub of ice cream or handful of crisps or playing rounders with fairly improvised rules, and it was lovely.
so then after a hot day spent lounging around on the grass and eating cookies, we decided the time was right to head to the river bank nearby to dip our toes in the water and cool off
but then, after being sensible for about five minutes, this happened
such amazing fun,as long as you avoid any passing punts/canoes/swans whilst you swim & especially if you jump! wonderfully refreshing and guranteed to be more fun that spending a day in stuffy shops or watching tv, this is how summer should be!

i strongly advise all of you to find a river to swim in, because it would be hard to find a better day than this

lots and lots and lots of love from

sunshine.ducks.ice tea.

today was absolutely lovely, it was gorgeous weather so me & millie decided to make the most of it by roaming through the streets of Cambridge in the sunshine. i had a rummage in some antique shops & the new vintage section in ark but no luck today. i'm hoping to find a new tea set to give me an excuse for a tea party soon!

showing just how mature i am by chasing some ducks on jesus green, it's a shame they don't really value my company.

we headed to a cafe for a spot of lunch; yummy mozzerella, sun dried tomato & pesto paninis -which were even better than they sound- and strawberry and chocolate ice cream. ice cream has to be the best thing about summer.

and then back to mine for mango and passion fruit ice tea from whittards. we drank about twenty cups each, it was so delicious and i just adore these cups - from the market in town a few months ago.
lovely day, but horrible school tomorrow :(
i hope you all had gorgeous springy days as well!

floral.denim.bright.

ooh, a day of nothing much but dressing up and dancing around the garden.
the dress is from topshop, the denim shirt is was my mum's a loooong time ago from monsoon & the big chunky necklace is from topshop as well.
the tights are, rather embaressingly, from primark, they do have good tights.
shoes are Dr. Martens, lovely and shiny and sparkles and glitter! :D
since this is my first ever ever ever post i wanted a lovely lovely lovely picture. i ended up with a lot of me falling off benches with petals in my hair until i found the self timer button and took this one. i like how the garden looks so bright and green everywhere even though i have a silly smile on my face and i only have one eye to speak of.
what jolly good fun.
