looking glass so shiny and new.
The school trips were such amazing fun, the first being a trip to the science museum - which actually means a lush day out with my friends and the aforementioned boy full of long laughs & lovely moments.
This is what I wore;
with these;
Cardigan - Primark (mens for extra cosiness)
Dress (worn as top) - New Look
Skirt - American Apparel
Headband - H&M
Shoes - Doc Martens
The next trip was the absolutely wonderful Clothes Show Live which completely redeems my school for everything, completely fabulous day of shopping in unique little boutique-y stalls (avoiding the Topshop knockoffs), I found some amazing pieces - most of which are now tucked under my christmas tree.
The show itself didn't show the most wonderful or original clothes but it was quite spectacular to watch.
No outfit from this trip, too rushed in the morning and too sleepy in the evening but I can show you a rather cute picture of me and my friends meeting the host, George Lamb! :)
And in a final note (I'll need another post for the picnic), here is a very beautiful headband bought for me by my lovely grandparents - I absolutely adore it after wanting one for such a long time and it seems Phoebe, the silly cat sniffing it, likes it quite a lot too.
always with love,
Lily

cuddles with flowers.
So today after school I went to Starbucks and searched for TeenVogue with my Holly, not too cold today but cold enough to need a nice warm scarf!
Dress; Topshop
Cardigan; H&M
Scarf; H&M (mens!)
Beret; Market in France
Shoes (can't seem to fit them in any pictures); Doc Martens
A month or two ago, I became very very bored with plain white walls and began ripping up every magazine I could lay my hands on and splatting some paint about it became this(with new additions all the time)-
I find it very helpful for inspiring outfits when I'm feeling dull & boring.
Now, I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but on my trip to London I purchased some lovely fabric from a lovely Cath Kidston shop & yesterday I got round to making myself a lovely cushion. My sewing skills aren't much, but I was quite proud of it myself.
Comments are always welcome & appreciated!

wouldn't you rather live your life.
Yesterday, my mother and I took the train up to London and I spent the day wondering up and down Portobello road, admiring quaint little tea sets and gorgeous vintage bags while imagining just how amazing it would be to live in the capital, right in the heart of everything.
I can't wait until I'm old enough move into a tiny one room flat on a busy road with a man who plays the trumpet at all hours living next door - this is the glamorous life I dream of. I want to live where everything happens, and anything can happen. London seems so full of possibilities and opportunities, so much variety and identity.
But back in the present, Portobello market is absolutely magical - I love little antique shops so all the stalls with old china and silverware and the most beautiful vintage jewellery were heaven for me! My mum bought a lovely chunky ring set with big green gemstones, which I may just have to borrow from time to time.
I purchase some lovely fabric for cushion making from the Cath Kidston shop, and far too many other pretty things.
I loved all the little charm-necklace stalls, but at £8 each on my tiny budget it has inspired me to try making my own rather than spend all my money on a tiny tea pot on a chain.
After a hard day's browsing, we had some yummy gingerbread lattes and a quick look (which turned into a very long look) in Liberty which has to be my favourite shop in the world ever, even if all I can afford is body lotion, it's just so fun to look - especially with all the stunning Christmas windows displays.
Today, Alice, Natalie, Holly and I went to see possibly the best film I've seen a long time - "An Education". It tells the story of a school girl being pressured by her parents to get into Oxford being enticed by a world of glamour and seduced by a man who isn't who he says he is, based on a true story - a very truthful portrayal of how you believe you know everything when you are young & foolish.
It's amazing the changes this girl goes through, as she begin to trust him completely and then throws her future away because of a few months of a fabulous life - and how she reacts when it's all swept from underneath her.
We all loved it, and I'm sure anyone of you would too so I strongly advise you watch it if you can!
I hope everyone's Winter (or Summer)has begun as magically as mine.
As always, thank you for reading my blog!

the beauty of imagination
Last weekend for my lovely Emily's birthday, we all paid a visit to the cinema to see "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus". I didn't really know what to expect, I hadn't heard much about it - but I was absolutely blown away.
It's an enchanting story about the complexities of your imagination, dealings with the devil and the horrible consequences of one small bet. Even if the story is sometimes a little hard for the likes of me to comprehend - the costumes, props & the like are always fabulously stunning. Lily Cole especially wears the most beautiful assortment dresses, masks & wigs I have ever seen. They're just so intricate!
I loved the contrast between the wonderful world of imagination and the harsh reality of modern life - a lovely lovely film.
lots of love from

Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts!
Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something, please,
Whether we be old and bald
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot,
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot.
I'm having a very vivid "Oh How I Wish I Could Go To Hogwarts" phase at the moment, which, while being very lovely, often leads me to do things such memorize the school song or the poem engraved at the entrance of Gringotts, then abandon all the books I'm reading to start The Philosopher's Stone for the 100th time and maybe squeeze in a film or two. I have to go to extreme lengths to stop myself finding another "wand" out of my garden and, yes it's hard to believe after reading this, I am all grown up and fourteen!
love from Lily!

sunshine.ducks.ice tea.
showing just how mature i am by chasing some ducks on jesus green, it's a shame they don't really value my company.
we headed to a cafe for a spot of lunch; yummy mozzerella, sun dried tomato & pesto paninis -which were even better than they sound- and strawberry and chocolate ice cream. ice cream has to be the best thing about summer.
and then back to mine for mango and passion fruit ice tea from whittards. we drank about twenty cups each, it was so delicious and i just adore these cups - from the market in town a few months ago.
lovely day, but horrible school tomorrow :(
i hope you all had gorgeous springy days as well!

floral.denim.bright.
the dress is from topshop, the denim shirt is was my mum's a loooong time ago from monsoon & the big chunky necklace is from topshop as well.
the tights are, rather embaressingly, from primark, they do have good tights.
shoes are Dr. Martens, lovely and shiny and sparkles and glitter! :D
since this is my first ever ever ever post i wanted a lovely lovely lovely picture. i ended up with a lot of me falling off benches with petals in my hair until i found the self timer button and took this one. i like how the garden looks so bright and green everywhere even though i have a silly smile on my face and i only have one eye to speak of.
what jolly good fun.
